Seller Documentation Policy
The Seller Documentation Policy outlines the required documents that sellers must submit to become authorized vendors on Lokbuy, our fashion marketplace. The goal is to ensure that only legitimate and compliant sellers are allowed to sell on our platform, fostering a secure and trustworthy environment for both sellers and buyers.
1. Required Documentation
To start selling on Lokbuy, sellers must provide the following documentation during the registration process:
A. Business Registration Documents (For Businesses)
- Business Registration Certificate: A valid certificate proving that the seller’s business is legally registered.
- GST Registration Certificate (if applicable): If the seller is required to register for Goods and Services Tax (GST), this document is mandatory.
- PAN Card: A copy of the seller’s Permanent Account Number (PAN) card, which is necessary for tax reporting and identification.
B. Personal Identification (For Individual Sellers)
- Government-Issued ID: A copy of a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g., Aadhaar, Passport, Driver’s License) for identity verification.
- Bank Account Proof: A recent bank statement or canceled cheque to verify the seller’s payment details.
C. Proof of Address
- Business Address Proof: A utility bill, lease agreement, or any other valid document that verifies the address provided by the seller for business operations.
- Personal Address Proof: If the seller is an individual, a personal utility bill or government-issued document showing the current residential address.
2. Document Verification Process
Once all documents are submitted during registration:
- Lokbuy’s verification team will review the provided documentation to ensure it meets the platform’s standards.
- The verification process typically takes 3-5 business days. In some cases, additional information may be requested to complete the verification.
Once the documentation is successfully verified, the seller’s account will be activated, and they can start listing products on the platform.
Important: All submitted documents must be legible and current. Expired or unclear documents will delay the verification process.
3. Updating Seller Documents
Sellers must keep their documents up to date to ensure continued compliance with Lokbuy’s policies. If any of the following changes occur, sellers are required to update their documents:
- Change of business name, address, or ownership.
- Renewal of GST registration or PAN card.
- Change of personal identification details (for individual sellers).
Sellers can upload updated documents through the seller dashboard. Lokbuy reserves the right to temporarily suspend or deactivate any seller account that fails to provide updated documentation within a reasonable time frame.
4. Confidentiality and Data Protection
Lokbuy understands the importance of privacy and takes all necessary steps to protect the sensitive information provided by sellers. All submitted documents are stored securely and used only for verification and compliance purposes. Lokbuy will not share any personal or business information with third parties without the seller’s consent, except as required by law.
Important: By submitting documents, sellers give Lokbuy permission to verify and store the provided data for the purpose of account verification and compliance.
5. Rejected or Incomplete Documentation
If a seller’s documents are rejected or found to be incomplete:
- The seller will be notified via email and provided with a clear explanation of the issue.
- The seller will have the opportunity to submit the required documents or make corrections.
- Failure to submit the correct documents within 15 business days may result in account suspension or deactivation.
6. Non-Compliance
Sellers who fail to provide the necessary documentation or who submit fraudulent or misleading documents will be subject to account suspension or termination. Lokbuy reserves the right to take appropriate action, including:
- Withholding payments for pending orders.
- Removing product listings.
- Banning the seller from the platform.
